Daffodil Festival – Traveling Float Information

 Float Setup and Staging Info for the 2010 Out-of-Town Parades

Listed in order of appearance.

Wenatchee – Float Trailer will be parked at Department of Transportation (DOT), 1551 N. Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee, WA.   -  Park outside the gate in the parking lot.  Unload float at 6:00am or earlier.  Float will be transported to Triangle Park, S. Miller & Cherry St. Judging will begin at 8:00 am. Parade starts just outside Triangle Park at Orondo Ave and ends at 7th and Mission.  After the parade the float will be transported back to the DOT parking area.

Sequim - NEW for 2010 Parade:  We will unload the float behind the JC Penny's complex (which is the end of the parade),  The truck/trailer will be parked on W. Maple St just one block south of Washington Street at So 7th. After unloading the float it will be driven to the start of the Parade which is E. Washington St and N. Dunlap Ave.

Pt. Townsend -   Trailer parking is different each year.  Check with instructions provided by parade officials.  For 2008/09 The Daffodil Truck parked near the bus transit center at the Safeway lot on South Sims Way.  Check in is at the Visitors center on East Sims Way. (Same street).  They will be moving floats by 10 AM or so.  The floats will stage on Benedict St. and be moved to the start of the parade.  The float should arrive by 8:30 AM for unloading.  The Royalty should be there by 10:30 and the judging will be done around 11 AM.  The parade will not start until 1 PM.  

Spokane -  Parking is under the freeway and directions are in the packet provided by Spokane.  Float needs to be out of the box early parade day as there is no room to maneuver the tractor trailer later in the day.

Shelton
- Park Truck/Float on W. Franklin St. between 9th & 8th, next to the School. Truck/Trailer needs to arrive at 7:30 am to put float together and move to staging. Truck will stay at that location after unloading.  Judging begins 10:00am.

Marysville - Truck arrived at the school district parking lot at 1:30 pm for unloading - then move to DOT by 3:30 pm.

Eatonville – Arrive with Truck by 9:30 am and park on Orchard Ave N. which next to the High School Stadium and school bus garage parking.  Other option is for truck to arrive earlier and pick up the driver for breakfast at the Tall Timber Restaurant, which is located on Mashell Ave., at around 8am. Float Crew has had breakfast there for the past few years.

McCleary (Bear Festival):   New parade for 2010 - Float will arrive by 8:00 am and will be off-loaded and staged at the Simpson Mill Parking Lot in downtown McCleary (on W. Simpson Ave.) Float Judging begins at 10:30 am.  McCleary officials will host a continental breakfast for our Royalty at the McCleary Community Center, 726 W. Simpson Ave, from 8am to 10am. 

Kent -  Float should arrive by 11:00 am and will be staged on 5th Ave. between Gowe & Saar Streets. (just off Willis St (SR-516).  Parade Marshalls will indicate where to park the truck & trailer. Judging at 1:00 pm with Parade at 2:00 pm.

Olympia – “CHECK” with parade paperwork as prep location could change. Prior parades the Float Unloaded at Olympia High School.  Moved truck to Deshutes Parkway along the lake for Loading.   Float needs to arrive and be unloaded by 11:45 am. or earlier.  (Parking is a tight at the High School)

West Seattle - "CHECK" with parade paperwork as locations could change.  2010 info indicates we will offload float at California Ave SW and SW Lander street by 9:00 am.  Truck and Trailer will be moved by 9:30 am to the end of the parade at or near California Ave and SW Hudson St.  Parking for truck will be tight.

Seafair – Check with parade paperwork.  Float trailer parking changes each year.  For 2009 the float was staged on Mercer between 2nd Ave and 4th Ave.

Astoria -  Park Truck/Trailer the night before on 8th St off of Exchange Street.  Park truck with back facing Exchange, on the East side of 8th next to the School Bus garage fencing.

Morton – Come into Morton on SR 7 from Elbe. Turn right at Westlake Avenue (big gas station on right). Go 1 block and park on the left side of the street next to the Motel on the left side of the road. After unloading the float and setup continue with the float down Westlake to West 7th Street & turn right. Staging numbers start on West 7th.

Milton -  Put the float together at the float barn and then drive up to the parade staging which would be provided by the parade paperwork.

Leavenworth -  Park truck/trailer at Cascade High School parking lot (After 4pm on Friday).  Take float out of trailer on Saturday morning by or before 8am as transport will commence at 9am to final staging on Orchard Street near the grade school.

Issaquah – Park Truck/trailer in lot at NW Maple and 12th Ave NW.  Parked the truck facing North in the lot next to 12 Ave NW.  Unload float by 6:00am as we will move the float to Staging at the Issaquah Valley Elementary School, 555 NW Holly St.(we need to be there by 6:45 am)  Park float assist vehicle between trailer and 12th to keep a path open so we can drive the float next to the trailer. Parking at this lot is very tight!!!. 

Auburn Veterans Day – Unload float at Auburn Eagles, 702 M St, SE, at or before 8:00am.  Call Eagles to confirm.  Park the truck on the South side of the building just off M street with the back of the trailer facing M Street.  Transport float to staging by 9:30am.  2009 staging was at H St SE and Main. 

Santa Parades – For Sumner Parade unload float in the parking lot on Parker Rd and E. Main.  Behind the muffler shop.  Transport float to the last parking stall at the driveway by the Gym.  Leave room for the Daffodil Bus.  Park the Daff Truck in Puyallup near the Fair Grounds on 9th Ave SW.  Park on the North side of the street next to the church parking lot.

Other Parades – Check with float instructions provided by parade officials.
