The 58th Annual
The Officers and members of the Tacoma Yacht Club sincerely hope you enjoy the 2010 Daffodil Marine Regatta! The 2010 Marine Parade will be celebrating it's 58th year and commences at 11:30 AM from the Tacoma Yacht Club. The Parade will proceed from the Yacht Club Basin down the waterfront just past the end of "restaurant row". There the Princess boat will be positioned and participating boats will recognize (wave at) the Princesses, turn to port and depart for home. The conclusion of the Marine Parade will bring to end an outstanding festival season. The tradition of the Marine Parade began 58 years ago, when, at the conclusion of the Daffodil Parade, the flowers were removed from parade floats and vehicles and taken to the Yacht Club. Yacht Club members would decorate their vessels & boats with the daffodils and parade up and down the Ruston Way waterfront. The tradition has grown into one of the largest marine parades in the Pacific Northwest. The Tacoma Yacht Club will host more than 160 guest boats for the Marine Regatta and Parade. Yacht Club activities will commence on Friday with the conclusion of their regatta ending with the marine parade. For additional information contact: The Tacoma Yacht Club Return to
