The Daffodil Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing higher educational opportunities.  The Foundation is primarily responsible for awarding scholarships to the 23 young women representing the Daffodil Festival's Royal Court.

The Daffodil Foundation Board of Directors wishes to thank all contributors for their generous donations.  The Foundation will be awarding $52,000 in scholarships to the 2008 Daffodil Royal Court.

2008 Daffodil Foundation Scholarships

  • The Western Washington Fair's Daffodil Festival Queen's Scholarship* - This  $10,000 scholarship is awarded to the Daffodil Princess chosen as Queen of the Daffodil Festival. This scholarship is sponsored by the Western Washington Fair.
     
  • The "Sandy Hust Scholarship - in honor of all Queen Mothers* - This $8,000 scholarship is awarded to the 1st Runner-up to the Queen and is sponsored by Sandy Hust.
     
  • The "Lady Dena McCallum Memorial Scholarship* - This $4,000 scholarship is awarded to the 2nd Runner-up and is sponsored by the McCallum Family.
     
  • The "Michael McGuire Memorial Scholarship" - This $4,000 scholarship is awarded to the 3rd Runner-up and is sponsored by Susan and Morgan McGuire.
     
  • The "Daffodilian Memorial Scholarship* - This $3,000 scholarship, in memory of Lee Merrill, Jack Richardson and Garvie Fink, is awarded to the 4th Runner-up and is sponsored by the Daffodil Festival and the Daffodil Foundation.
     
  • The "The Lady Kathy Kelley Memorial Scholarship" - This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the 5th Runner-up and is sponsored by the Kelley Family.
     
  • The "David McCallum Memorial Scholarship* - This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the 6th Runner-up, and is sponsored by the McCallum Family in memory of Past Daffodil Festival Sir Boss (President) David McCallum.
     
  • The Eleno Sisters Scholarship - This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the 7th Runner-up, in honor of Princess Maylynn, Princess Maricris and Queen Romelynn.
     
  • The "Bill Stoner Memorial Scholarship" - This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the 8th Runner-up and is sponsored by Laura Stoner.
     
  • The "Daffodil Royalty Alumni Association Scholarship" - This $500 scholarship is awarded to a member of the Royal Court based on community service and is sponsored by the Daffodil Alumni Association.
     
  • The Miss Congeniality Scholarship - This $500 scholarship is awarded to the Princess voted "most congenial" by the Daffodil Princesses and is sponsored by The Tacoma Yacht Club Shipmates.
     
  • The remaining fourteen (14) members of the Royal Court will be awarded a "Daffodil Foundation Princess Scholarship" in the amount of $1,000.   

** All named scholarships amounts were made possible by matching funds from the Daffodil Scholarship Foundation.   Our sincere thanks to the Western Washington Fair, Sandy Hust, the McCallum Family, Susan & Morgan McGuire, the Daffodilians, the Kelley Family, the Eleno Family, Laura Stoner, and all others for their generous contributions to the Daffodil Scholarship Foundation.

Opportunities to fund our educational programs are available through donations to the Daffodil Foundation. You can choose to create a scholarship fund in someone's honor, or, donate to the established scholarship fund. Donations are tax deductible.
