"FRIENDS OF THE FESTIVAL"
Starting in 2000 the Daffodil Festival re-established a group known as "Friends of the Festival". The Daffodil Festival, who's members, known as Daffodilians, operate the festival and are required to meet certain responsibilities and obligations are now offering a new level of "casual" membership. The Friends of the Festival group is designed to offer access for residents of the Pierce County community to avail their services and/or special abilities to promote the Festival. Friends of the Festival members also become eligible to participate in all of the social events, at both our own mid-April Daffodil Parade as well as the 20 – plus out-of-town parade visitations. The Friends of the Festival is also a great way to learn about the Festival and the many fine events that we produce, sponsor, or attend within Pierce County and the Pacific Northwest and Canada. These functions take many volunteers to keep our spirit alive and growing since 1933. Most likely, all participants will be utilized heavily on Parade Day in April, but also in the weeks and months of prior preparation. There is also room for helpers on our summer traveling float crew. Actually, we need help all year round with committees such as show booth duty, royalty assistance, fundraising, decorating, speaker's bureau, office help, etc. Membership dues are $30.00 per year. Each accepted member will receive a current Booster pin, nametag, a monthly mailing of our "BULB" newsletter. Festival hats, shirts, jackets, etc. are available for purchase and may be worn at anytime, especially for Daffodil events. Thank you for considering participation with the Friends of the Festival. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to offer your time and abilities in an effort to keep this 73 year old tradition alive.
